In this interview, Frederico Caputi, Sales Manager at Altenar, explains that the company’s recent recognition as Best Sportsbook Provider 2026 in São Paulo reflects its strategic focus on flexibility and deep regional understanding in Latin America. He highlights that while markets like Brazil show massive potential—driven largely by sports betting—many operators struggle to sustain growth beyond launch due to weak retention strategies.
Caputi emphasizes that sportsbook should not be treated as a secondary product, as it represents the main driver of engagement and revenue. He identifies key challenges in the region, including complex and constantly evolving regulations, which require adaptable platforms and strong compliance expertise.
According to him, success in LatAm depends heavily on localization, real-time engagement, and advanced features such as in-play betting, Bet Builder, and player props. He also points out a gap between operator expectations—focused on speed and customization—and the often rigid solutions offered by providers.
Looking ahead, Caputi sees personalization as the next major step in the evolution of sportsbook platforms, combined with real-time data, trading flexibility, and risk management tools that allow operators to scale sustainably and remain competitive.
In this sense Caputi said "The next phase is clearly about personalization. As the market matures, operators will need to move beyond standard offerings and create more tailored experiences. That means using data more intelligently, not just for trading, but for user engagement”.
