Aristocrat Technologies announced that it has transitioned its Southern Nevada operations to 100% renewable energy through participation in NV Energy's GreenEnergy Rider program, marking a significant step in the company's sustainability strategy and supporting Nevada's clean energy goals.
Partnership with NV Energy drives sustainability progress
The company highlighted the achievement as an important milestone in its global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and increase the use of renewable energy across its operations.
“Reaching 100% renewable energy for our Southern Nevada operations is an important milestone in Aristocrat’s sustainability journey,” said Harry Ashton, Group General Manager of Sustainability for Aristocrat.
“By partnering with NV Energy through the GreenEnergy Rider program, we are able to accelerate our progress toward our carbon reduction goals while supporting the growth of renewable infrastructure in Nevada."
“This achievement reflects our commitment to operating responsibly globally and in the communities in which we operate and creating long-term value for our stakeholders.”
One of only four companies in the program
Aristocrat is one of just four companies participating in the GreenEnergy Rider program in Nevada during 2026. It is also the only slot machine manufacturer and the only Southern Nevada-based company involved in the initiative.
According to the company, joining the program early enabled it to secure renewable energy supply amid increasing demand driven by the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence technologies and data centers.
NV Energy highlights benefits of the initiative
NV Energy emphasized that the program allows companies to achieve sustainability goals while contributing to the state's renewable energy targets.
“Our goal is to provide clean energy programs to the community while also strengthening our Renewable Portfolio goals,” said NV Energy Program Development Director Jared Bilberry.
“Ultimately, programs like the GreenEnergy Rider give companies like Aristocrat the ability to achieve 100% renewable energy, while we continue to invest in and grow Nevada’s clean energy future.”
Nearly 5,000 MWh secured for Nevada facilities
Through the program, Aristocrat secured 4,954 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable energy for its North American headquarters in Summerlin and its Las Vegas Integration Center in Henderson.
The company supplements its remaining electricity requirements with additional renewable resources and renewable energy credits, allowing all of its Southern Nevada facilities to operate entirely on renewable energy.
Renewable energy credits managed by NV Energy
Under the GreenEnergy Rider model, Aristocrat pays a Renewable Resource Rate that covers the utility's procurement and allocation of renewable power while maintaining bundled electric service.
NV Energy manages the sourcing, delivery and verification of the renewable energy, while all associated renewable energy credits are tracked and retired by the utility to ensure the environmental benefits are exclusively attributed to Aristocrat's operations.
Part of a broader global sustainability strategy
The Nevada achievement complements Aristocrat's renewable energy agreements supporting its operations in Sydney and its Australian Integration Center, reinforcing the company's long-term carbon reduction objectives and broader sustainability strategy.
